is a family assistance center providing housing for homeless families with children for up to 8 weeks, and operates a community food pantry. Our Mission is to Foster Lifetime Independence while feeding our community. To reside at Anchor House Families need to live or work in Jackson County, have legal custody of minor children under the age of 18, have a limited criminal and Office of Family & Children history. Our program is focused on adult clients obtaining employment, saving 50% of all income and participation in life skill classes in Parenting, Finance & Nutrition. Anchor House strives to provide a drug and alcohol free environment for its clients with a zero tolerance policy. Alcohol and drug testing will be done upon entry into our program and randomly thereafter during a client's stay. Our goal is to help stabilize each family including secure housing, better money management skills, steady employment, contacts for appropriate social services, increase your parenting awareness and nutritional needs.
