Turning Point Domestic Violence Services
has been providing victim services since 1975. Turning Point's mission is to work toward the prevention and the elimination of domestic and dating violence. The organization continues to offer an Emergency Shelter, 24/7 Crisis/Helpline, Latina, and Non-Residential services, while also working to expand Prevention Programming efforts in Jackson County. Turning Point services include: emergency shelter, safety planning, crisis intervention, court & legal advocacy, case management, translation services, and others.
One of the main goals of the agency is to heighten community education through the continuation and growth of prevention services by means of community awareness presentations, professional/targeted trainings, and youth-teen presentations on dating violence and healthy relationships. The agency has also focused on creating a new teen advocacy group within Jackson County called Teens for Change, to help educate & inform local teens.
